Mezzanine FilmsFounded in 2004 by Mathieu BOMPOINT, Mezzanine Films has produced more than fourty short films, which have been screened at prestigious festivals in France and around the world. These include films by Maud ALPI (Groundwork, Nice, Running and Drakkar), Louis GARREL (My Buddies, Little Tailor), Cécile BICLER and Hervé COQUERET (Patrick Patrick Club Suicide, The Edge of the World), Vourdalak by Frédérique MOREAU, and Dounouia by Anthony QUERE and Olivier BROUDEUR, which received an award at the 2010 Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and has screened at more than thirty festivals. More recently, Mezzanine Films produced From San Francisco With Love by Yohann KOUAM (who directed also The Return, selected in more than fifty international festivals and received nine awards) and Chinese by Benjamin MELOT, selected at Brest European Film Festival.
On the feature film end, Mezzanine Films has produced 6 features: Free Hands by Brigitte Sy, who was discovered at Clermont Ferrand in 2009 with The Best Place; Beast Paradise by Estelle Larrivaz, which received the Audience Award at the 2012 Festival Premiers Plans d'Angers. In 2014, The Good Life by Jean Denizot, was selected at Venice Days, the sidebar of the Venice Film Festival. Released in theaters in 2015, The Mad Kings by Laurent Laffargue is presented at Montreal Film Festival. This year, Mezzanine Films produced Still Life by Maud Alpi which won the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Award at the Locarno film festival. In addition, Lightning, Manuela Morgaine’s legend in four seasons, received its world premiere at the Bright Future section of the International Film Festival at Rotterdam, which took place from January 23 to February 4, 2013. It was also selected at the T-Mobile New Horizons festival, from July 18 to 28, 2013, in Wroclaw, Poland.
